Tuna!!!!

WE HAVE FISH FOR DINNER!!!!! Mr. Crazy Squid delivered us a nice fat tuna. The day started a little wet and rainy and Papa was in the cockpit fiddling around while the rest of us were just hanging out in the cabin. I went up to throw out some egg shells or something and Papa was pulling in the fishing line with a huge grin. We all came out to see the fish jumping around behind the boat. Once it was close, Nora poured a bottle and a half of the cheapest gin at Target all over its gills. (The gin knocks out the fish quickly and is a lot more humane than the conker that takes roughly 3 hours.) Then we had a civilized fileting on the back. The whole thing was so much nicer than last year's murder scene. Mama is going to sear it and put it over sushi rice. Yum yum!

Lately, we seem to have alternating good and not-so-good days. However, yesterday was great and while today wasn't as action-packed and exciting, it was still a good day. Despite it's drippy start, the day got sunny for a good portion of the day. There was/is incredibly light wind so we sailed slowly with intermittent motorings. We voted this morning on arriving on Friday morning instead of Thursday afternoon or evening because to get through the channel and coral to the marina takes daylight. We didn't want to wait outside the lagoon all night to have plenty of time and light to navigate the hidden hazards. Apparently, you have to call the port master on the radio before you enter the lagoon channel place because there's an airport runway that has planes taking off right over the channel. They say to call if your boat exceeds 15ft vertically. Ours is 60ft...

The sunset tonight was definitely the best one yet. It was a full 360 degrees around us, complete with rainbow, bright pink clouds, gold high clouds and constant evolution. Mama took a video but I doubt it fully captures the colors.

We ended the day laughing at the picture. It's not our best!
